Egg Nog

Egg nog is just part of the holidays, hands down. The easiest way to prepare it is just to buy a quart of pre-made and add your favorite spirit. But it would taste nothing like all the following recipe you can easily make yourself!


  • 6 eggs
  • 1/ 2 pint Rum
  • 1/2 pint Brandy
  • 2 pints Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 6 Tbs. powdered sugar
  • 1 Cup granulated sugar


Beat egg yolks well. Add granulated sugar, spirits, slowly add enough whipping cream stirring to make a pale yellow color. Whip remaining cream with powdered sugar, & fold into the mixture. 

When adding spirits to the recipe, leave it set for about an hour with plastic wrap laid on the surface. The alcohol supposedly "cooks" the eggs. This is best done at room temperature. When using eggs it is best to use some common sense food safety and buy pasturized eggs.
